Privacy Policy

Third Street Counseling · Effective Date: 09/15/2026

How This Policy Relates to Your Health Information

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected through this website, such as a consult request or a page visit. It is not our Notice of Privacy Practices. Protected health information created in the course of clinical care is governed by HIPAA and by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive when you begin services. Please do not send detailed health information through this website. Our consult request form is intended only to schedule an initial conversation.

Text Messaging Data

Third Street Counseling does not share text messaging opt-in information, including phone numbers and consent records, with any affiliates or third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Opt-in data may be shared only with the service providers who deliver the messages you consented to receive. All opt-in data and consent records are kept confidential.

Information We Collect

Information you give us: name, email address, phone number, who therapy is for, the service you are interested in, your preferred format and contact times, anything you choose to write in the optional note field, and your contact consent and its timestamp.

Information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring source, and general usage patterns through cookies and similar technologies.

Communication records: your inquiries, scheduling correspondence, and stated contact preferences.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through this website. Requests concerning a minor should be submitted by a parent or guardian.

Analytics and Tracking We Use

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. These tools set cookies and collect the automatic information described above. We record actions such as submitting a consult request, clicking our phone number, expanding a question, and scrolling through a page.

We do not send the specific service or condition pages you viewed to any advertising platform, we do not build advertising audiences from visits to our practice-area pages, and we do not use session recording or heatmap tools on pages containing our form. We may display a tracked telephone number that forwards to our main line so we can understand which parts of the site lead to calls. Calls to that number are routed to the practice as normal.

When you first visit, a consent banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Analytics and advertising storage are disabled by default until you accept. You can change your choice at any time through the banner.

How We Use Information

To respond to your consult request and schedule an initial conversation; to communicate with you about appointments; to operate, secure, and improve the website; to keep records of your communication preferences and consent; and to meet legal and professional obligations.

Text Message Program

By opting in through our form, you agree to receive text messages about scheduling and support. You will only receive messages if you explicitly opted in, and we keep timestamped records of that consent. Reply STOP at any time to cancel; you will receive one confirmation and no further messages unless you opt in again. Opt-out requests are processed immediately. Message frequency varies with your appointments and messages relate to the services you requested. We do not send promotional content without separate consent. Standard message and data rates may apply and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, including our scheduling and client management system, our text message provider, and our website analytics provider, all of whom are obligated to keep it confidential and to use it only for the services they provide to us. We may also disclose information where required by law, valid legal process, or a lawful request from public authorities, or where necessary to protect rights and safety. If our practice is ever transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Security and Retention

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and other reasonable safeguards, and we train our staff on protecting your information. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep website inquiry information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law and professional recordkeeping obligations.

Your Choices and California Privacy Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold from this website; opt out of email by using the unsubscribe link; opt out of text messages by replying STOP; ask how we process your information; and withdraw consent for future communications. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in California privacy law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. You also have the right to limit our use of sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the service you asked for; our consult form is built not to collect it, and asks for no symptom, diagnosis or condition. To exercise any of these rights, or to make a request your browser settings cannot cover, use our Your Privacy Choices page. No account and no identity verification is required. Requests concerning clinical records are handled under HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices rather than this policy.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to analyze traffic, remember your preferences, and improve the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings and through our consent banner. Disabling cookies may limit some site features.

Third-Party Links and Updates

Our website may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We may update this policy from time to time and the current version will always be posted here with its effective date.
