About Beth

Who is Beth?

Working under the supervision of Michele Hall-Preston, LMFT, so a second licensed clinician reviews the clinical work.

Beth Sandoval, AMFT, is an associate therapist at Third Street Counseling in Laguna Beach, working under the supervision of Michele Hall-Preston, LMFT. She works with teens, adults and families on trauma, depression, ADHD and anxiety, and her work is trauma-informed. Every new client begins with a free consult.

Her approach is warm, collaborative and built around the person in front of her. She works from the view that a client knows themselves best, so sessions are not about being told how to think, feel or live. They are about understanding what is going on, with the client's values and experience in the room.

She often sees teens, families with teens, and adults working through anxiety, depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, life transitions, and the effects of difficult or traumatic experiences.

She is trained in EMDR and in Functional Family Therapy, and draws on those alongside other approaches depending on what is useful. She sees clients in the Laguna Beach office and by telehealth across California.

She is bilingual and sees clients in English or Spanish, so a family can do the work in the language they actually talk to each other in.

A Personal Note

A personal note from Beth

I want therapy to be a place where you can be honest, ask questions, laugh when it feels right, and talk about the things that may be difficult to say anywhere else. Wherever you're starting from, we can begin there and work together to better understand what you're experiencing and what you hope will change.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you. I believe you know yourself best, and I don't believe therapy should be about telling you how you should think, feel, or live. Instead, we'll figure things out together, taking into account your values, your experiences, and what is important to you.

I often work with teens, families with teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, life transitions, the effects of difficult or traumatic experiences, and other challenges. My work is trauma-informed and grounded in the belief that each person's experiences are unique. My goal is to meet you where you are and create a space where we can focus on what you need from therapy.

I am trained in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and FFT (Functional Family Therapy), and I draw from these approaches, along with other therapeutic modalities, depending on what feels most helpful for you.
