Our Approach
Care for young people
Growing up is hard work. We work with children and teens on anxiety, ADHD, autism, and the social and behavioral challenges that come with each stage. Sessions are shaped to the young person in front of us, not a one-size approach.
Our clinician brings 18 years of experience as a credentialed special educator, with particular depth supporting neurodivergent children and teens through social, relational, and behavioral challenges.
First Session
What does a first session with a child look like?
You and your child arrive at our Third Street office. You may be greeted at the door by Paix and Luz, the therapy dogs who are part of the practice. The first session is about getting comfortable and beginning to understand what is going on, not about answers on the spot.
Parents are part of the process. The shape of that involvement depends on the age of your child and what makes sense for your family, and we will talk with you about it openly.
If telehealth works better for your family, sessions are available by video across California.
Who You Would See
Who would you see for this?
Elaine Pike, AMFT, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, at our Laguna Beach office and by telehealth across California.
